Common Criteria is an information technology (IT) validation scheme adopted by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP). NIAP is a collaboration of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA). NIAP has established the Common Criteria Evaluation Validated Scheme (CCEVS) to validate IT products. Common Criteria is also referred to as ISO 15408.
